If you don't have a reliable friend or a trusted (and affordable) kennel to take care of your dog, you might even be tempted to stay home and avoid the hassle.
But traveling with your dog doesn't have to be painful. With a little research, planning and preparation, you and your dog can have an enjoyable travel experience. Fortunately you live in the age of the internet, and the information you need is right at your fingertips — if you can find it. Isn't Google great? Yes, but who needs Google when the folks at BringFido.com have done a lot of the hard work for you!

Even if you're like most people and have never wondered what your dog looks like underwater, you are still sure to enjoy Seth Casteel's entertaining collection of underwater dog photos.

From adorable — as in the book's cover shot — to funny to outright frightening, you've never seen man's best friend in quite this way before.

Casteel artfully captures underwater shots of a variety of breeds of dogs —  and even a wolf — at play in the water, chasing and retrieving balls and rings, or just jumping in and swimming.

Casteel runs Little Friends Photo, specializing in "lifestyle pet photography". According to its web site, Little Friends Photo "embraces the at-ease mentality of pets on-location in their natural surroundings", with results that are "spontaneous, priceless moments of [a] pet's unique personality".

In addition to commercial photography, Casteel volunteers at shelters, taking picture of dogs and cats to help portray them in their best light, and help them find permanent homes.

Here are some sample pics from Underwater Dogs:
